چکیده

Agglutination inhibition immunoassays using antifibrinogen antiserum measure an antigenic determinant of fibrinogen which is located on the fragment D parts of this molecule. This antigenic determinant of fragment D, in contrast to others, does not form an immune precipitate with antifibrinogen antiserum. Upon very extensive hydrolysis by plasmin, this antigenic determinant has a reduced affinity for its antibody.

Analysis of elevated fibrin(ogen) degradation product levels in patients with liver disease.

Plasma and serum from patients with liver disease and elevated fibrin(ogen) degradation product (FDP) levels as measured by latex agglutination were analyzed by immunoblotting to characterize the FDP in these patients. An antihuman fibrinogen antibody was used that recognizes fibrinogen, fibrin monomer, soluble high molecular weight fibrinogen and fibrin polymers, as well as high molecular weig...

Fibrinogen is an important determinant of the metastatic potential of circulating tumor cells.

Detailed studies of tumor cell-associated procoagulants and fibrinolytic factors have implied that local thrombin generation and fibrin deposition and dissolution may be important in tumor growth and dissemination. To directly determine whether fibrin(ogen) or plasmin(ogen) are determinants of the metastatic potential of circulating tumor cells, this study examined the impact of genetic deficit...

Fibrin(ogen)-induced expression of ICAM-1 and chemokines in human synovial fibroblasts.

It has long been recognized that in most inflamed arthritic joints the coagulation system is activated, leading to the local generation of fibrin, and it has long been hypothesized that the local fibrin deposition promotes inflammation and tissue destruction. However, only recently has the direct effect of fibrin on the inflammatory process been seriously investigated, and specific roles assign...

Identification and distribution of fibrinogen, fibrin, and fibrin(ogen) degradation products in atherosclerosis. Use of monoclonal antibodies.

Samples of normal and atherosclerotic vessels obtained from vascular and cardiothoracic surgery were examined for the distribution of fibrinogen/fibrin I, fibrin II, and fibrin(ogen) degradation products (Fragment D/DD) by using recently characterized monoclonal antibodies that recognize and distinguish the three molecular forms (MAbs 18C6, T2G1, and GC4, respectively) with the ABC-immunoperoxi...

The APOE ɛ4/ɛ4 genotype potentiates vascular fibrin(ogen) deposition in amyloid-laden vessels in the brains of Alzheimer's disease patients.

Evidence indicates a critical role for cerebrovascular dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathophysiology. We have shown that fibrin(ogen), the principal blood-clotting protein, is deposited in the AD neurovasculature and interacts with beta-amyloid (Aβ), resulting in increased formation of blood clots. As apolipoprotein E (ApoE), a lipid-transporting protein with three human isoforms (E2,...
